I came looking for tips on how to draw black anime characters for my next manga because the main character will be black. This is all I could find, and your style is very underdeveloped. Anime style is a deep departure from the 'just good enough' attitude of American cartoonists. And I don't care if your style is a departure from standard manga style as long as you have the fundamentals but get out of here with this boondocks crap, please. That's not anime. You must work on your line art and stop using color as a crutch. Manga is done in black and white, with halftone dot screen shading and gradients for easy printing. If you want to be a freelance 'art fag' doing commissioned art for horny furries your whole life, you're on the right track, but if you want to draw with the big boys, you're going to need to step it up. <3 Advice: do some inking, or simulate inking. Don't ink your own work. Get an AI program to make some anime sketches for you, print them out and ink them. Practice, practice, practice. Learn inking techniques: Some things to work on Hatching Line weight gradation implied lines You have some of this going on, but I'd like to see more. Your lines are very thick. Bold outlines are fine, but bold interior lines detract from the level of detail of the interior of your figures. This gives your work a lazy American feel. Use line work and hatching for shading instead of hard-edge color shading, and increase the detail of your shade shapes. These blended ovals from cosmetic school aren't cutting it. <3 Bring this critique to your instructor, and/or your peers for further guidance. Honestly, if you ever do this again, I do actually have requests for some characters to redesign, the Basu sisters, Maya Wifu (her design is cute, I just wish she wasn’t well… You know), and maybe one of the demons you can get access to in the occult club. (maybe the ring demon woman or the spider club leader demon who used to be a placeholder for the club leaders before they got added.)

I hope you redesign the knock off scooby doo themed yan sim characters and make them their own og characters that look far enough from the scooby doo characters so you can tell they're different people.
